Guaranteed to turn you gay by Pride Day!

Just in time for Pride 2011, Canada’s first and only queer sketch troupe exposes itself to Toronto. The Queer Comedy Collective kicks off the gay high holidays with a three-night run that’ll be as funny as it is Queer and queer on oh, so many levels.

There’s Celine Dion waxing poetic about technology, the gay cleaning man who makes his clients feel like dirt, the voguing gang of swarmers, a reality show called “Newfie Shore,” a bratty take on "Up with People,” campy musical numbers, the CBC in Harper Nation, and opening remarks by Rob Ford.

With our performers’ ages and outlooks running the gamut, there’s bound to be something for every Queer – and straights who want to turn Queer by Pride Day. The Queer Comedy Collective is a high-calibre collection of Canadian acting and comedy talent.

It stars
Darryl Dinn (Canadian Comedy Award Nominee, Out With Dad), Andrya Duff (The Scandelles, Canstage Festival of Ideas and Creation), Susan Fischer (Fringe fave Evelyn Reese, Inside Out LGBTQ Film Festival), Robert Keller (Hot Gay Comics on here! TV, finalist on Second City’s Next Comedy Legend) and Lindy Zucker (Rhubarb Festival, SummerWorks)

QCC promises to be a breath of fresh air on Toronto’s sketch-comedy scene. That means no homophobic jokes but all the internal homophobia a Queer could want.
